Ultrasonic rhinoplasty

Ultrasonic rhinoplasty performed by electric vibrations (piezoelectric) is, for me, the reference technique in modern rhinoplasty today. It provides unmatched precision in bone cutting while respecting the surrounding non-bony tissues (soft tissues, mucosa). Much less traumatic for the nasal bones, it avoids accidental fractures (cleavage line) of the bones that are frequently observed during traditional osteotomies with bone chisels. The bone slices are finely reshaped to prevent the irregularities often felt under the finger at the level of the operated nasal ridge. It allows for sculpting the nasal bone in its thickness (on the sides of the nose, which can thus be flattened and made symmetrical), a procedure that was previously unachievable with traditional techniques. In this way, complete ultrasonic rhinoplasties can also be performed without breaking the bone if the reduction is minimal.

There are significantly fewer bruises present in the postoperative days. This necessarily requires an open approach to work on the bony structures "in the open air" and to allow the passage of the instrument. Very subtle modifications are thus possible on noses that would have certainly been rejected before for fear of excessive reduction.

Cosmetic micro-surgery of the nose has arrived!

Beyond what could be considered a gadget, this is truly a new concept that heralds a new era in aesthetic and reconstructive rhinoplasty. We can now speak of rhinosculpture or ultrasonic rhinoplasty.
