Hyaluronic Acid Injection

Dr. F. Ouakil, a surgeon and aesthetic physician in Paris, offers hyaluronic acid injections for wrinkle filling and facial volumetry.

Indications: lips, cheekbones, dark circles, tear troughs, mouth, wrinkles and fine lines, cheeks, facial oval, chin, medical rhinoplasty, brow lifting, hollow temples. The reference products are Juvederm, Restylane, or Filorga.

In certain cases, collagen stimulators (Sculptra, Radiesse, Ellanse) can be used to stimulate the formation of collagen fibers for a restructuring effect.

Several types of wrinkles can be treated:

  • Expression wrinkles (muscle areas such as the forehead or frown lines) → often associated with Botox
  • Nasolabial folds and deep wrinkles (tear troughs, nasolabial folds, jowls)
  • Age-related wrinkles (cheek creases, smoker's lines)
  • Hollow areas (temples, sagging eyebrows, loss of fatty or bony volume)

Expression Wrinkles

Located on the upper part of the face, they are caused by the repeated action of facial muscles.

Main areas:

  • horizontal forehead wrinkles
  • glabellar lines (frown lines)
  • crow's feet

Treatment: injection of botulinum toxin (Botox® or Vistabel®), effective but temporary (6 months). It also provides a lifting effect on the forehead.

Nasolabial Folds and Deep Wrinkles

Located around the lips and on the lower part of the face (nasolabial folds). Their treatment relies on the injection of resorbable hyaluronic acid.

This technique is also applied to lip filling to redefine the border, plump, and reduce smoker's lines.

Age-Related Wrinkles

Related to aging and external aggressors (sun, tobacco, pollution). Treatments aim to stimulate dermal fibers (peeling, laser, photorejuvenation).

Superficial layering with hyaluronic acid complements these methods for cheek creases and lip wrinkles.

Filling

The hollowness of the temples or flattening of the cheekbones accentuates the impression of aging. Filling restores volume and can correct dark circles.

Three categories of products:

  1. own fat (lipofilling)
  2. implants (rarely used due to delicacy and risks)
  3. hyaluronic acid / collagen (safe and resorbable)

Profiloplasty

Aims to harmonize the profile by combining several injections (nose, cheekbones, chin, lips). Medical rhinoplasty combined with injectable genioplasty is a typical example.

Medical Lifting

To treat facial sagging without surgery: combination of Botox + filling, peeling treatments, photorejuvenation, radiofrequency.

Resorbable barbed threads (Aptos threads) also allow for non-surgical lifting with an effect duration of approximately 18 months.

In Conclusion

Aesthetic medicine has made significant progress, delaying heavy surgery. The combination of hyaluronic acid, Botox, collagen stimulators, radiofrequency, lasers, and ultrasound offers a modern, effective, and less invasive response to facial aging.
